At Tary's gesture the automaton waits at the edge of the yard for whatever they might need him for, and meanwhile he heads over to park himself beside her, hesitating only a fraction of a second before giving the bear a light pat to make his presence known. He's still not exactly a bear person, but he can appreciate a protective ball of muscle and fluff as much as the next man, and Vex loves him so that's what is most important. Plus, living with her back in Whitestone meant being very much used to (and mostly enjoying) his presence.
